Busy bee!

Wow, it’s been a busy few months! Since last posting, I’ve been engaged in a number of exciting projects. Best of all, feedback from clients has been extremely positive. Here’s a sample of some projects I’ve completed:

Course development & facilitation:

  • Best practices for disability management
  • Recruiting and hiring people with disabilities
  • Disability policy and procedure building for employers

Curriculum development:

  • Privacy & confidentiality for the vocational rehabilitation professional
  • Returning to the work site post-pandemic

Subject matter expertise consultations:

  • Creating a supportive work environment for employees who work from home
  • Supporting employees who Return To Work following disability

Excited to see what the next adventure brings!

First big project!

I am so excited to start out this Independent Consulting journey with a truly exciting project: From now into late Spring 2021, I will be working with a partner to develop a suite of courses for a major workplace wellness organization that has a Canadian base and a global reach. Our area of focus is supporting employers to develop and enact effective policies and practices related to employment of disabled persons, all within a COVID-19 context. Excited to get started!

Spirit of the Law

The law is reason, free from passion. ~ Aristotle

Hello!

Having recently transitioned to independent consultant work, I’ve started reaching out to my network for insights. Today, I’ve got “legal” on the brain.

An area of practice I always particularly enjoyed is providing vocational rehabilitation (VR) consultation services for the legal profession, whether for Plaintiff or Defense. As an independent consultant with broad and deep expertise in the VR field — and in multiple areas of disability insurance — I’m eager to get reacquainted with the state of this area so I can locate opportunities to provide expert, evidence-based opinion regarding vocational rehabilitation services.

With over 18 years of experience interpreting findings — from formal vocational evaluations, Functional Capacity Evaluations, Functional Demands Analyses, Transferable Skills Analyses, Psycho-vocational Assessments, Psycho-educational Assessments, Neuropsychological assessment, Labour Market Surveys, vocational education/training research, and Return to Work Plans — I’m more than ready to put my expertise to good use! So if you or someone you know has nuanced and complex cases demanding vocational rehabilitation file reviews for an opinion that is objective, impartial, comprehensive, and defensible, please reach out!
